Women's Small Group Hello Friends, We hope this finds you recovering nicely from all the craziness of the holidays! I don’t know if you make “New Year’s Resolutions” or not, but I’ve been struck recently with this wish for 2012... "When this New Year in time shall end, let it be said I've played the friend, have lived and loved and labored here, and made of it a Happy Year." - Edgar Guest These questions come to my heart – How can I be a better friend? How can I be more fully alive? How do I best love those in my sphere? How can I serve them this year? One of the things I want to work on in my own life is my relationships and in order to help me in this area, I want to really think about the words I choose as I interact with those I love. Christin Ditchfield founder of Take it to Heart Ministries says “It’s not enough to know God’s Word, we have to take it to heart”. She’s written a book called “A Way With Words” about the power that words have to hurt or encourage, wound or heal. She takes women on a soul-search to discover how to harness our words for redemptive purposes. Amy and I will be journeying through this book together and we’d LOVE to have you join us! We’re going to start by getting together for appetizers and have a time to “catch up” with each other on - Tuesday, January 24th at Applebees in Burnsville from 6:30- 8:30. Then the first study will cover Chapters 1& 2 on Tuesday, February 7th from 7:00 pm – 9:00pm - at my house February 21st – Chapters 3&4 – sign up to host March 6 – Chapters 5&6 – sign up to host March 20- Chapters 7&8 – sign up to host April 3 – Chapters 9&10 – sign up to host April 17 – Chapters 11&12 – sign up to host May 1st – Party! We hope you are having a Happy New Year so far and we look forward to re-connecting with you soon! Connection in 2012 Bible Study: Bible Studies exist to facilitate transformation in the lives of women through the study and application of God’s Word. Women's Tuesday night Small Group: Read and discuss "A Way with Words" in this bi-monthly small group setting. Led by Deb and Amy. Women's Group: Meet once a month for group led by Julie. Heart Needs: Strengthening hearts through commitment to Christ and to each other. Great Expectations: “And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me” Matthew 18:5 Our new and expectant moms’ ministry is here to offer spiritual, emotional and physical support, as well as friendship, prayer, and help as you go through this exciting time in your life. Oasis: A place of refreshment, “. . . because I provide water in the desert and streams in the waste land, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.” Isaiah 43:20b -21. Join our social opportunities to connect with women in friendship and in life. Retreats : Retreats create time and space for intentional movement towards God, experiencing the love of Christ, and connecting with other women. Prayer and Worship : Prayer and worship exist to bring women into communion with God. We glorify him through adoration and seek him in conversation.
